When asked if John Brooks was set to be available for the U.S. Men’s National Team’s upcoming World Cup qualifier against Trinidad & Tobago, Bruce Arena kept his answer simple.
“I don’t know.”
The defender, who recently completed a big-money move to Wolfsburg, is questionable for Thursday’s qualifier against T&T due to a bruised right quad. Brooks picked up the injury early in the second half in the USMNT’s friendly draw with Venezuela on Saturday.
According to ESPN, Brooks spent Sunday in treatment and rejoined USMNT training on Monday, partaking in the entire training session with the rest of his teammates.
The defender has been hampered by injuries throughout his USMNT career. Most recently, Brooks missed March’s World Cup qualifying match with Panama, an eventual 1-1 draw.
After taking on T&T on Thursday, the USMNT is set to travel to Mexico to play at the Azteca on Sunday.
