John Brooks is dealing with nagging injuries, and Hertha Berlin isn’t prepared to take any risks with their central defender.
Hertha Berlin coach Pal Dardai says that Brooks will be rested for Saturday’s clash with Werder Bremen. Brooks has been dealing with Achilles and back issues, and the club is not willing to risk the defender in this weekend’s match.
“It makes no sense,” Dardai said. “It is better John rests for one match and is fit again after that. Just imagine we’d risk something and he’d then be sidelined for six weeks.”
Hertha Berlin is currently third in the Bundesliga, six points behind RB Leipzig and three behind Bayern Munich.
